I wrote this song about a night I spent with someone I either really loved or who just inspired a lot of love in me. It has the added benefit of a totally belt-able bridge, which is basically my softest spot. Nothing is more cathartic than yelling on pitch.

Happy birthday to my best friend, who is definitely still learning a lot every day. I think of you sometimes when I'm writing about the feels I know we share. I wish you only the best, the most enlightening, and also the most intense and absurd so that you'll have very good stories to tell next time I see you.

​I wrote this song after the first (and only?) time I was ever broken up with. I realized later that I was much happier on my own, but at the time I was just trying to make sense of that new, strange feeling—the feeling of not being wanted.
