This has always been the one of my songs that people seem to like best, and I can't for the life of me figure out why. It's good, I guess, but it's just definitely not my favorite. Plus, I'm shit at the guitar. Huh.

I wrote this song late one night while I was visiting my parents. First I wrote all the words in my head while lying in the guest bed. Then I crept out of bed and downstairs to the piano and very quietly wrote this song, one nearly silent key at a time, in the middle of the night.

I absolutely love this song. I tried simplifying it even more, and guess what? It worked. This song has room enough in it for both belting and playing a single key at a time. I know; I tested it.

Today is the first one-year anniversary I've ever had.. It's also the first time I dated a woman. So, of course, this song is all about her…and me…and our strange past and amazing future. Happy anniversary, baby girl.

I wrote this song as a concept piece when a friend asked me to do the soundtrack to his short film. It never made it onto the project proper, but it's now one of my text tones, so… still pretty cool, yeah?
